Would you like to Gamp ?

There is no typing error in the title ! Gamping is the contraction of Garden and Campsite, in other words it is about a campsite in the inhabitant garden ! This community platform has been created last year to put in relation campers in search of a ground to plant their tent and owners of grounds avid to meet new persons and make some money.

Gamping.com (the english version of the french Gamping.fr) is an idea of Joseph Léopold, a 25 years old camping lover. Three years ago returning from a journey in Italy he realizes that it lost the keys of his parents' house. Therefore he decides to plant his tent in the garden and that makes tilt !

With no money he creates his company and launches his website in 2013. This summer he uses a participative financing to raise 4000€ and be able to develop it. Today the site includes 650 grounds, and Joseph hopes to exceed 1000 grounds by the end of the year.

Grounds are classified by "inspiration" : seaside, mountains, swimming pools, beautiful houses.... We already find some grounds in our region in Saint Cyr sur Mer, Marseille, Nice, Grimaud. So if you have a ground to propose yours or if you're looking for a new original destination for your holidays, you know where to go!

How to choose your eggs on street markets ?

If you are in Toulon area you may have already saw these boxes of eggs on stalls? We find them in hypermarkets as the Carrefour of Ollioules, and even on street markets (I see them particularly on the market of Toulon and La Seyne). These eggs are produced in Puget and the box lets you think that it is a a farmer production with cackling hens under the Mediterranean sun ... unfortunately it's not ! 

You just have to look at the code registered on the eggshell (it's been an obligation in France since January, 2004) and it is particularly useful for eggs sold on markets where we do hope to buy free-range eggs. On every egg you will find a figure followed by the F letter. It is what indicates the type of breeding from 0 to 3.

0 = Organic Free-range hens, organic food (at least 2.5m2 of outside ground by hen)
1 = Free-range hens (at least 2.5m2 of outside ground by hen)

2 = Intensive breeding but no cage and at the most 9 hens by m2

3 = Hens raised in cage (18 hens by m2)

As long as our box of eggs of Puget is concerned, the box let us expect to find the code 1FR on the egg and nevertheless it is an intensive breeding in cage ! Eating local is unfortunately not sufficient, here the price is much more attractive than organic eggs or red label (label rouge) but the conditions of breeding are purely indescentes.

Bistrot Bocaux, the local food truck in Hyères

At the beginning Bistrot Bocaux (Jars Bar) is an adventure from Marseille, a first restaurant is created at the beginning of 2013 in the Dock du Sud (Dock of the South) then the second address will soon be born in the Terminal of the Cruise passengers of the Port of Marseille.

Meanwhile the tender Charlotte Bensoussan created a food truck transformed into a grocer's shop to propose her jars to the nomadic lunch lovers.

More than a hundred jars are aligned on the shelves of this red and black truck (nothing to do with the RCT apparently!). All the recipes are realized by French craftsmen strictly selected and the most complicated is to make your choice !

3 menus

The Nomads: to warm in a microwave (on the spot or somewhere else) and eat in the jar.
The Tapas : spread in a sandwich or to share in tapas between friends.
At home : to warm at home and serve with a side.

I had the most difficulty to make a choice and I opted for the nomadic encas that I ate on the small terrace (red and black too!) by the truck. A sandwich with the good sesame seeds bread, garnished with salad, tomatoes, onions and a tartinade Eggplant Ricotta Mint, then another sandwich in a bread with poppy seeds garnished too and spread with Trout/Chive. With a drink it costs me 10€.

The welcoming is super nice, the bread is very good, tartinades ... yummy ... were delicious.

Super concept, super choice, super quality, super welcoming .... what else ?!

Blues in La Seyne sur Mer

When I speak about blues I don't speak about the blues you'll have at the end of your holidays ! No I speak about the blues of Moses Patrou, this New Yorker artist at present curently on tour in the South of France.

I had the pleasure to discover him in the Casino Le Joa on the Sablettes Beaches in La Seyne sur Mer during a free concert which I had announced on Facebook (that is why you should follow my page, haha!). I had a great moment siping a mojito on the so nicely enlightened terrace of the Casino and wiggling myself  listening to the groovy-jazzy-punchy music of this singer-writer-multi instrumental player.

There's only two days left to discover him in Six-Fours or in Hyères, so don't miss him !
