Chicag' Flea Market

Chicag ' or Little Chicago was the nickname given to the district of Toulon situated in the low city after the World War II. One might as well say that this district had no good reputation because sailors in permission used to spend a lot of time there and came to find prostitutes and bars. Everything has been closed gradually in the 70s leaving deserted streets and buildings in decline.

Here is an attractive mural painting situated in the angle of streets Victor-Micholet and Chevalier-Paul staging prostitutes with sailors, at the beginning of the XXth century in Toulon.

This district quite slowly recovers. Numerous buildings are in restoration, shops settle down again and events take place to liven up the district.

It is in this spirit that will take place the Fleas Market of Chicag ' on Saturday, March 8th, 2014. The opportunity to find good deals rue des Bonnetières and place de la Poissonnerie, between two coffees on the sunny terraces of the historical center.

DJ Ubyk will perform rue des Bonnetières from 2:00pm !
